PROJECT TITLE:
GoVenture World
INTRODUCTION
We are inviting you to participate in an Alpha or Beta test designed to test GoVenture World. The information provided below will help you understand exactly what is being asked of you. Please read this consent form carefully and ask all the questions that you may have before deciding whether or not to participate in this research. You can post questions and review answers on our Player Community website. Please take whatever time you need to reach your decision, and consult with others if you wish. Your participation in this testing is completely voluntary and a decision not to participate will not be used against you in any way.
PROCEDURE
This study involves interacting with new game software on a computer workstation, tablet, or smartphone: The software evaluation will take place during the Alpha and Beta testing period. This study will involve the use of your own computing device and you will be required to evaluate the game software on the Internet. You may voluntarily provide your comments and opinions on the GoVenture World Player Community website.
POTENTIAL HARMS
We do not know of any risks associated with your participation in this research. However, the risk of disclosure of personal information is always present with any Internet-based system. If potential harms are discovered, you will be informed as soon as possible.
POTENTIAL BENEFITS
Many of the people participating in early game software testing have enjoyed their experience. Moreover, your participation will contribute to our effort in learning about how to improve GoVenture World.
PRIVACY AND CONFIDENTIALITY
All information gathered from you will be confidential, except for any of your game activity that is displayed to other players in the natural course of playing the game. The COUNTRY you live in is shown to other players. And, you may optionally and selectively disclose other personal information to other players, if you so choose. Your data will be retained for at most 5 years. Data from the study will be summarized to provide overall findings and recommendations for the research team and your identity will not be revealed in any presentations or publications that result from this research. You have the right to obtain any publicly available documents created as a result of this research.
COMPENSATION
As compensation for your participation and time, you will be given access to certain features of GoVenture World for free during the testing period.
COMMERCIALIZATION
It is possible that a commercial product may be developed by MediaSpark Incorporated and/or GoVenture World Corporation (see contact information below) as a result of this research. If so, you would not directly or indirectly profit as a result.
LEGAL RIGHTS
By agreeing to this consent form and participating in this test, you are not waiving any of your legal rights, except as otherwise required in the GoVenture World Terms of Use, which you must also agree to in order to play GoVenture World.
VOLUNTARY PARTICIPATION AND RIGHT TO WITHDRAW
Your participation is completely voluntary. You may end your participation in the testing at any time or for any reason without penalty.
